Разумней всего было бы делать ИМЕННО ими. Т.к. с дивами всегда проблемы, в плане выравнивания, ведь в ИЕ тот же padding вычисляется от предыдущего элемента (в контейнере), а в том же FF от начала контейнера... (Контейнер, к примеру тот же <td></td>)

PS: С данной ситуацией встречался при обтикании тектса ПОД картинкой.. В IE текст шол столбцом, а в FF обтекал...
