Отпишусь и о своем опыте разгона:
Разогнал когда-то Radeon x1950GT 512MB. Получи в 3Дмарке 3-4 дополнительных ФПСа. Но после разгона стабильность карты оставляла желать лучшего. Сделал для себя вывод, что гнать видеокарту нужно с нормальным охлаждением, а чтобы его купить, надо выкласть по крайне мере 30 долларов (можно посчитать на пальцах людей которые сами сделают охлаждение достойное конкуренции Arctic Cooling или Zalman). И все ради пары-тройки ФПС. Добавляем эти 30 долларов и покупаем видаху, которая в штатном режиме «порвет» разогнанною предшественнику (даже если ее грамотно разгоняли). О водяном и более серьезном охлаждение речи не идет. Там уже другой разговор.
О процессоре. Насколько % разогнал – настолько % получил прирост в скорости и тут для меня (как для кодера видео тем более) есть результат на лицо, так сказать.

Итог. Я потратился около 50(300грн. по тем временам) долларов на кулер, но получил производительность, которая стояла 999 долларов (опять-таки по тем временам)

В свете выхода платформы 1156 и 1366 мой конфиг под 775 сокет может оказаться не очень полезным, но бедным «оверам», которые и не мечтают пока о новейшем залезе подойдет (тем, у кого конфиг схож с моим).
