Понимаю, что тема ОЧЕНЬ старая, но сам купил недавно Epson GT 2500 - и точно такая проблема. Решил.

Есть еще информация в http://forum.ru-board.com/topic.cgi?forum=88&topic=1091

How to install an Epson network document scanner on Windows Server 2008 with Terminal Services installed

RELATES TO:

Supported scanner models: GT-20000, GT-20000N Pro, GT-2500, GT-2500N, GT-30000, GT-30000N, Expression 10000XL, Expression 10000XL Pro
Supported models must be equipped with the Epson Network Image Express card
Supported OS: Windows Server 2008, 32-bit and 64-bit

Explanation

Install Desktop Experience
Switch the server to install mode
Install the scanner driver
Switch the server to execute mode
Add registry key


EXPLANATION:

It is possible to use one of the stated supported scanner models in Windows Server 2008 if Terminal Services is installed.


Do the following:


1. Install Desktop Experience
The Desktop Experience feature enables you to install a variety of Windows features running Windows Server 2008.

Click Start, select Administrative tools and click on Server Manager.
From the left panel in Server Manager, click on Features.
Click on Add features from the right of the Features Summary window.
From the available list of features, select the Desktop Experience check box, and click Next.
On the confirmation page, click on Install.
Once the installation is complete, click Close and then click Yes the prompt to restart now. This will restart the server and finish the installation process.

2. Switch the server to Install mode
When you want to add or remove programs you must put the Terminal Server into Install mode.

Click Start, and then Run.
In the Open: box, type cmd and then click OK.
At the command prompt; type, change user /install, and then press Enter.
The following message appears, confirming that the server is now in Install mode:
"User session is ready to install applications."


3. Install Epson Scan
Launch Setup.exe from EPSON SCAN to install the driver.

Epson Scan is available on your product's Software CD-Rom or to download from the Epson Support website.


4. Switch the server to Execute mode
When you have finished adding or removing programs, return the Terminal Services server to Execute mode.

Click Start, and then Run.
In the Open: box, type cmd and then click OK.
At the command prompt; type, change user /execute, and then press Enter.
The following message appears, confirming that the server is now in Execute mode:
"User session is ready to execute applications."


5. Add registry key
To use Epson Scan through a Terminal Server session, we must add the following registry key:


On Windows Server 2008 (32-bit) add the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Compatibility\Applications\ESCNDV

Then create REG_DWORD named “Flags” with value 408 (Hexadecimal).


On Windows Server 2008 (64-bit) add the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Compatibility\Applications\ESCNDV

Then create REG_DWORD named “Flags” with value 408 (Hexadecimal).
