Пропали настройки профиля
 
Пропали настройки профиля, а также все содержимое папок "Мои документы" и "Рабочий стол"
Причем пропадали настройки несколько раз при неправильном отключении питания.
Подскажите пожалуйста как вернуть прежнее состояние компьютера. ОС Windows 2003 Server.

Делать бэкап. У Вас файлы реестра пользователя повреждаются. Поставьте ИБП. Файлы из папок "рабочий стол" (Desktop) и user's Documents физически вряд ли могли пропасть. Смотрите через "Проводник" в папке Documents and Settings\%username%

ИБП поставил.
Через проводник файлов не видит. Приложения все работают. Кроме маленьких типа PuntoSwitcher и т.п.
Точек восстановления до того момента создано не было.
