AMD Athlon XP и SSE2

Такая проблема: процессор AMD Athlon XP 2800+ не поддерживает SSE2, а некоторые программы (например от Adobe) требуют его. Можно как-то обойти это ограничение?

Solution 2: Edit the Setup.ini file.

You can edit the Setup.ini file for Adobe Production Studio so it will not check for an SSE2 enabled CPU before it attempts to install. Once you have installed Adobe Production Studio using the modified Setup.ini, you can successfully run After Effects 7.0, Audition 2.0, Illustrator CS2, and Photoshop CS2.

Note: If you edit the Setup.ini file in order to install Adobe Production Studio, you will not be able to run Premiere Pro 2.0 or Encore DVD 2.0 unless you upgrade your processor to one that supports the SSE2 instruction set.

To edit the Setup.ini file:

1. Copy the contents of all of the Adobe Production Studio DVDs to a folder on your hard drive. For instructions on copying the content of these DVDs to your hard drive, see document 328850 , "Troubleshoot installation problems (Adobe Production Studio on Windows)."

2. In Notepad, open the Setup.ini file that you copied in Step 1. This file is located in the Adobe Production Studio folder you created in Step 1.

3. Remove the section of the file requiring SSE2 by deleting the following four lines:

Это работает только для Adobe Production Studio, а у меня отдельные программы. В них нет этого файла.

Papercut, тогда тебе ничего не поможет. Придётся либо заменить процессор (и всю систему с ним) или заменить программное обеспечение.

Вы глубоко ошибаетесь. SSE еще идет с Intel Pentium 3, а у AMD начиная с некоторых Duron. Ваш процессор поддерживает набор интрукций MMX, SSE, 3DNow!
Больше чем уверен что SSE просто не включена у вас в BIOS.
Мой совет - скачать последную версию прошивки BIOS для материнской платы. Перепрошейте.
После этого включить в BIOS поддержку SSE.
Так же можно воспользоваться утилитой WCPUID
Загрузить её можно отсюда: http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002374/src/download.html.
Удостовертесь, что твой процессор поддерживает функцию SSE Tweaks > AMD Athlon MP/4 SSE Control > SSE Enable to enable SSE

Запомните, что при каждой новой загрузке придется включать SSE вручную через программу.

KORKODON, если ты внимательно читал первый пост, то должен был заметить что речь идёт о SSE2

На сколько я знаю, в частности Adobe нужно SSE а не SSE2
SSE2 Adobe так же требует, но процессор работает, просто есть определенные ошибки. Поэтому считаю проблему Papercut, заключается в том, что функция SSE не включенна.

KORKODON, дело в том, что последние версии программ (например After Effects CS3) даже не устанавливаются, требуя SSE2.

Тогда, думаю, способа запустить продукт на своем процессоре, вы не найдете.
Поменяйте процессор, сейчас Мать+Проц можно взять очень даже не дорого.
