установка драйвера

Мои мозги "покалечены" Windows. Где найти, или кто объяснит тут пошагово, как установить драйвер на видео интел, встроенное, под Дебиан. Прошу вашей снисходительности, не пинайте меня по всяким англоязычным ******.org. Заранее благодарен

В любом случае стоит указать что за видео карта конкретно стоит. И какая версия дистрибутива установлена. На сколько мне известно при установке есть поддержка карт интел... Может он встал...
Если что, порекомендовал бы Мандриву или Убунту, ибо Дебиан сложноват немного, мягко говоря. :-)

Можно еще заити на вполне русифицированный сайт http://debian.org, там поискать ответы. Когда я поднимал свой wi-fi адаптер на Debian, мне это очень помогло!

Есть оно там, а что с этим делать? Родное разрешение 1680х1050 я выставить не могу, я так понимаю проблема драйвера

Монитор как определен? Если plug'n'play, то он выше 1024*768 не даст. Разрешение картинки монитора зависит от двух вещей - правильно настроенной видокарты и правильно настроенного монитора. Можно еще попробовать прописать modeline в xorg.conf с помощью вот этой (http://bohne-lang.de/spec/linux/modeline/) утилиты. Подробнее про modeline - man xorg.conf

Как его сохранить?

как запустить МС?

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf - открываешь для редактирования от имени пользователя root
Для запуска mc его надо сначала установить sudo apt-get install mc
